Laboratory

All laboratory tests are performed at the Aquinas University Hospital Laboratory. This is done because immediate results are needed for the fast diagnosis of the patient's illness. Our laboratory is generally used by our inpatients and by the outpatients who are consulting to our physicians or by offices affiliated with AQH.

The Laboratory Department maintains two sections: clinical and anatomic. Some of the tests conducted in the laboratory include FBS, BUN, Creatinin, BUA, Total Cholesterol, Triglycerrides HDL,LDL, AST, ALT, Calcium, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Magnesium, Amylase, Alkaline Phos, TPAG, Albumin, CKMB, TBIL, HBA1C Trop 1, and HGT/RBS. In Serology and Blood Banking, there are HBsAg Screening, RPR, Dengue Antibody, Typhidot and Crossmatching.

The Department of Health requires a tertiary category laboratory to have a Microbiology Section. AQH intends to have that section and make it operational by January 2009.

The clinical laboratory of AQH has progressed and will continue to progress with the addition of new high technology machines, with the presence of skilled medical technologists, and with the best quality service given to clients who trust our institution.
