Using Insurance/Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)

If you plan to take advantage of your health insurance or HMO, you need to inform this upon admission. Take note of the following criteria when using the HMO health plan.

  • The HMO you are going to use must be accredited with Aquinas University Hospital.
  • Under normal circumstances, private insurance companies DO NOT cover cosmetic surgery or medical procedures deemed 'elective,' especially if the patient is traveling overseas for treatment.
  • Study thoroughly the policy to know what medical services are reimbursable.
  • Ask for a Letter of Authorization or Letter of Guarantee from your insurance company in favor of Aquinas University Hospital. The letter must include the terms and conditions of the coverage. You also need to recognize the hospital's billing statement and the Doctor's Professional Fee.
